My name is Analisa Pineda. I am twenty years old, and my major is Business Administration. I am currently a student at CSM and also work as a student assistant at the Chancellor’s Office at the San Mateo County Community College District. My goal is to receive my AA and then transfer to San Francisco State University.

I come from a somewhat unstable background. I am the only child of four who has graduated from high school, attended college, and has the dream and motivation to reach the highest educational level possible. And it is my goal to continue to go to school regardless of my financial circumstances.

I am fully independent and support my own schooling, food, transportation, and housing. I manage my income and time so that I can continue to go to school every semester. However, I had come to a point where I needed to reduce the amount of units I was taking and put more hours in at work. I was declined financial aid this year because my estimated contribution exceeded the limit (which includes my mother’s income, even though she doesn’t contribute to my school tuition). I also applied for over 20 scholarships, but I did not receive any funding until now.

I just want to thank you and your committee so much for this. I can’t explain how much you all will help me out. Your financial support will pay for my books this summer and fall and help me finish my community college education in a timely manner, moving me closer to transferring.

Thank you so much.

Best regards,
Analisa Pineda
